The day we met, you got down on one knee in the center of a doughnut shop
No, not the one downtown–that one was under construction
We went to the east side
Territory unknown
You, unknown
You, pulling me into you as we sat on the waterfront
You, hand on my knee
Me, brushing it away
Me, hiding my excitement
Me, hiding my fear
You, down on one knee in the center of a doughnut shop
And suddenly, we were under construction.
