Sometimes I have a hard time differentiating if something occurred because of or in spite of something terrible happening.
Did they choose to hire me because the fire alarm went off during the interview, or in spite of it?
Did we become friends because of our differences or in spite of them?
Did I fall hard because I knew it would never work, or in spite of knowing?
Am I strong because of the things I’ve overcome, or in spite of them?
This post is part of the A-Z Challenge. My theme is April Scribble, which includes microfiction, small vignettes, and poetry.

I think everyone asks these questions from time to time. A great post.
