We took all the smoke detectors out of the ceiling when they ran out of batteries and started chirping at 3am.
I guess we’re all gonna die if there’s a fire.
So it goes.

We don’t really need the detectors to wake us. One tiny ‘peep’ from them and the dogs go wild. Who could sleep through that?

Eos, our new arrival, is just starting to get the confidence to bark. She’s not yappy like Trevor, but has a fairly high-pitched, almost musical voice.

I have a tiny apartment and my smoke detector goes off if I cook chicken on the stove. I’ve had it unplugged for months. Probably not a good thing…
