Fly

FThere is freedom waiting for you,

On the breezes of the sky,

And you ask “What if I fall?”

Oh but my darling,

What if you fly?

-Erin Hanson

Oh, my darling, take it all

Every last inch of the world

Tint it in the way only you can, with wonder and beauty and laughter

You won’t want to

You’ll say: it’s too much responsibility

You’ll say: your color isn’t vibrant enough to saturate this planet

You’ll say: you don’t know how to lure the grey from the clouds

You’ll say: you aren’t powerful enough to tame the beasts that roam from house to house distributing hurt

You’ll say: you’re scared that you might fall

Oh, but my darling, you have me by your side

I’ve studied your colors and your strength and your energy

Oh, my darling, fly.
