If We Were Having Coffee (Full Plate Edition)

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my plate is full. Three jobs, fifteen credit hours, five student organizations (including one board position), a blog, and a house. It’s a lot, y’all. Next week I have two midterm exams and two projects due before I disappear on fall break with my friend Amanda–and then a presentation and a paper due the week we come back.

the officeJealous yet? (Yeah, me neither. I’m stressed.)

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about some upcoming blog plans. Next week I’m hosting Feminist Friday on the topic of representation of women in pop music. I haven’t written it yet (see above!!) but I’ll make it happen. I’ll also be finishing off my road trip series before October is done. I haven’t finished this month’s content yet, but I’m half done with next month’s posts and super excited to publish them. If you liked yesterday’s poem, you’re gonna like November.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I finished watching The Office this week. I’ve been watching the series since May and I’ve been very emotionally invested in the show. I cried through the entire finale, and my housemate had to take me grocery shopping to distract me. I’ve never watched an entire show start to finish like that, and now I’m feeling a void that I’m going to try to fill with Parks and Rec, since I hear such good things about that series.

If we were having coffee, I’d have to cut it off there. I’ve got a lot to do, but I’d love to hear what you’re up to. What would you tell me over coffee?

  1. Holy crap, you ARE busy! I feel your pain–or at least remember it. I was in your shoes last year at this time and it was rough.

    Good luck with everything, Sabina!

I’m busy with my TESOL course in Thailand right now so I have a full plate, too. In a couple weeks I’ll be moving to my (still) unknown placement to begin teaching. It’s an incredibly exciting and nerve-wracking time!

  2. Sweet potato, I thought my plate was full. Have you found time to sleep?

I’d tell you I’ve recently turned a window seat, which lived in an arch window (bad explanation), into a set of shelves and desk top and I’m stupidly excited about it, possibly because I’m lame and easily entertained. I’ll also be going to my third playwriting group thing next Monday and I have done zip for it. And that there’s a scratch night I want to submit to, and I’ve done zip for that, too :)

    • That conversion sounds very cool–don’t be ashamed of your excitement!
Luckily I have been sleeping. I’m such a diva about my sleep that if I get less than 8 hours I’m pretty much nonfunctional, and I get 8-9 hours most nights.

  3. I can hear you out of breath all the way through the internet! Yeah, I would be exhausted. I’m glad you took a few minutes to post, though. I hope it let you catch your breath a bit! You go! You can do it!

  4. wow, dear you are busy. Good for you. Nothing ever comes out of sitting around and doing nothing, but I am glad to hear, that you are taking the time to watch something that you enjoy, even if it is emotionally taking its toll. Hugs!
