Not just any boats, Dragon boats! Was this taken in Portland? Haven’t done that sport for quite a while, but the boats they used in the races there usually were bigger (Taiwanese style I think).

Yes this is in Portland! I was trying to get my shot and not get in the way of the dragon boaters. I think they’re probably practice boats though, I think the racing boats are bigger/fancier.

Thanks, and speaking of which before I forget again, a late Happy Thanksgiving (we had ours last month in Canada)! Portland’s dragon boat races use a capture-the-flag kind of finish, so each boat has a flag its drummer at the front has to climb up the dragon’s head and grab to complete the race. That’s why the racing boats are bigger and fancier. In Vancouver (BC, not WA), the boats has smaller dragon heads since they just has to cross the finish line.
